Kids CRAFT Birthday Party

I did a 9 year olds CRAFT birthday party last weekend and it was a lot of fun! Here is a picture of the little hand bag we made. This was cut on my Cricut and then we stamped images from the Priceless stamp set with the inks Chocolate Chip, Purely Pomegranate, Blue Bayou and Groovy Guava.

The cards inside are actually 3 x 3' cards, the same size that I made for the Mother's Day stall, they are so cute! We used images from the Fun and Fast Notes which fit these size cards perfectly not to mention all the variety of sayings and pictures in this set, there are 8 in total making it a great starter's stamp set with all sorts of occasions covered!

I kept with a Pink & Purple theme for the girls using Pink Passion and Lavender Lace cardstock and lots of ribbons!!

Mother's Day Cards

Okay so I know I am a little late for this post, but here is a Mother's Day card I made. Note that any saying can be used on this card and not just 'Mother's Day'! This stamp is a Level 1 Hostess set and it is just gorgeous!
I have two versions, one where I have not coloured the flower in and the other I have, just using the ink pad and the 'daubers'.

The colour used is one of the NEW In Colours 'Groovy Guava' and the matching ribbon (of course!) layered onto 'Chocolate Chip' cardstock.

Mother's Day Stall follow up...

So we had the Mother's Day Stall today at school and the official amount of cards that were made was 368 and there are only just on 50 cards left! Yeah it was great, I actually got to sell all the cards myself at a table as all the mum's helping made sure to tell the kids to go down the end of the table's to buy a card for mum! I think that added to the fun and enjoyment of watching the kids try to decide which card to choose for their mum's. I had one little boy who bought 5 cards! He kept coming back with his 50c (that's how much we sold them for nothing too huge) and said I love buying cards, so I said okay which colour next! But the feedback from the mum's helping out and some of the teachers was lovely so it made all the time and effort worthwhile.

Mother's Day Cards for School Fete

Wow it's all finished, I have been working along with my lovely mum and some mum's from school to finish approximately (I have not done the official count yet) 375 cards for our school Mother's Day stall tomorrow! We have worked late into the night and day to get them all done and to top it off my mum, Ann made wait for it 402 envelopes to fit the cards into!!! An unbelievable job she has done, can you tell she does not work anymore??!! Thanks so much for the help to everyone involved let's just hope the kids buy them tomorrow!! Anyway here are some pictures of the cards they are only note cards but are just gorgeous measuring 3" by 3" when folded.

These are just some of the colour schemes that we did, as we used a variety of stamp sets and inks to give them something to choose from and to stop the boredom. My favourites are the ones using the swirl from the set 'Priceless' and the 'Flower Punch' that goes with the set 'Looks Like Spring' although these flowers were very time consuming to 'stick' on and we hope they stay on the cards when the kids open them to write on and put them back into their envelopes! Oh and we stamped the envelopes as well.

The ink colours used were 'Tempting Turquoise', 'Purely Pomegranate', 'Pretty in Pink', 'Lovely Lilac' and 'Chocolate Chip'. The cardstock we used was varying with 'Whisper White', 'Pretty in Pink' and 'Lovely Lilac'.

The Faces Of Riley Layout

The wonderful faces of my gorgeous son Riley, unfortunately I see way too many of the cranky ones of late!

This is a double page layout I completed recently I have just not mastered the art of joining these pages together! Sorry if it looks odd!
I have used designer series paper out of a scrapping pack that has since been deleted from Stampin' Up! and the cardstock is Bordering Blue and Night Of Navy. The words were cut using my 'Cricut' cutting machine and I used some flowers and buttons.

Ava Scrapbook Page

This is a layout of my daughter Ava. I have not really used Stampin' Up! products this time except for the cardstock of Pretty in Pink and Cranberry Crisp.

Stampin Up! Convention

Sorry I have not posted for a little bit, but I have just gotten back from beautiful QLD and I attended the Stampin' Up! 2 day convention, it was absolutely fabulous as well as spent time with my wonderful family as they all came with me (well not to convention but to QLD)!

I had a great time, learnt lots of new things and met some wonderful new friends! I did a card swap, where I made 20 cards (all the same) and then swapped them with other people at the convention to get other ideas. This is the card I made for my swap below: -

You probably can not tell from my photo but all the Choc Chip flowers are covered in dazzling Diamonds (a must use for any project!). My lovely friend and neighbour Carolynn came and helped me prepare the 20 cards that I had to make, thanks so much!!

'Sheet Boy' scrapbook page

Here is another one, I have given up on the template idea with the scrapbook pages as I don't think there is enough room to view the actual picture. Let me know what you think!

This is called 'Sheet Boy' and is of my eldest son Blake when he was about 3 1/2 years old. He had an obsession with this sheet!

This page is called 'Dirtbike Boy' and is of my youngest son Riley, it was taken only a few months ago. He is 4 1/2 years old here. I am having technical issues with this post and can not get the type to be between the two pictures, oh well!

I have a few more pages to come, but I am off to bed now as I am way to tired from sitting here in front of this computer for so long!!

Scrapbook Pages...

Okay so finally I am going to start posting the scrapbook pages I did at the weekend away! Okay so I have not quite mastered the art of double pages, but I will get there, slowly! I hope you like them!

More cards from the weekend away....

Here are some cards I made on my weekend away, I was inspired to make a card as it was my daughters 2nd birthday on the Sunday so I needed to stop scrapbooking and think cards instead!
So this is the card that I made for Ava, not that I have written on it as yet, but hey she's only 2 she does not understand....yet!!! She was so funny opening her presents it was over in 5 minutes! She would get a present rip off the paper then chuck it on the floor and grab for the next one with no interest at all to what we had bought her! So she is certainly not going to worry about a card!
This card uses a set that you have not yet seen and was given to us by Stampin' Up!, yes I know it is a truly gorgeous set and may well be available in the new catalogue as a hostess set! So you may even be able to get it for free, we will know in just a matter of days!!!! The official count down is.....21 days away!!! That is if you pre book a party or even a stamp-a-stack with me for the month of April or May and then I will send you out a new catalogue for FREE as soon as I recieve them OTHERWISE arrange to pre pay the $10 by the 1st April and I will also post you out your NEW catalogue in the post, or drop it over depending where you live!

Back to the birthday card the set is called 'Time Well Spent'. I have coloured in with the Wonderful Watercolour Crayons and an Aqua Painter then cut the shapes out sticking them down with Stampin Dimensionals to lift them. The cardstock used is one of my favourites Old Olive. I have also used the butterfly from the set 'Small Sayings' which is out of the Summer Mini Catalogue which ends this month. Images stamped with black ink.

This card also uses the same set as the previous card and was coloured in all the same, except the flower is coated in Crsytal Effects thus mang it shiny! The cardstock used was Really Rust which I have not really used before and someone else had used it in a card (Machelle) and it looked great, so I have now ordered myself some cardstock and an ink pad in Really Rust! The other cardstock is Close To Cocoa and the Grosgrain Ribbon Chocolate Chip 5/8" from the Summer Mini Catalogue, it is nice and easy to use the thicker ribbon too.

I have used the 'Love Matters' stamp set from the Summer Mini Catologue for this card with Chocolate Chip, Pretty in Pink and Cranberry Crisp cardstock. Main images stamped in black ink with the butterfly from the 'Small Sayings' set and inked in Lavender Lace. The ribbon is from Ribbon Originals 'Flirty' - from the Summer Catalogue, I can not express how gorgeous these ribbons actually are, they are stunning (page 19 mini catalogue).

Scrapbooking weekend away

Well I have just gotten back from 2 lovely days out at Silverdale with some wonderful people for a scrapbooking weekend away! We got lots of scrapping done and even some cards, well some only did cards. Here are a few gorgeous cards from two of the girls I went with and I will post some of my cards and scrapbook pages as soon as I take some photos and download them!

This card was made by Fiona McCulloch and uses the Fishy Friends stamp set and the word 'Imagine' is from the Natural Beauty stamp set. Fiona has used Only Orange & Tempting Turquoise from the Bold Brights colour family and corrigated white card stock as the base (not Stampin' Up!). The fish have been coloured in using the Watercolour Wonder Crayons and an Aqua Painter. The colours look great together!

This is card is also by Fiona and uses the Looks Like Spring stamp set with Choc Chip cardstock and ink. The other colour cardstock and white corrigated cardstock is not from Stampin' Up!. It looks great, especially using the co-ordinating Looks Like Spring Punch and punching out the flowers. Fiona has also inked the edges using the Sponge Daubers and the choc chip ink pad.

Another card by Fiona using the Riveting Hostess Stamp set which is about to be gone forever when the new catalogue comes out 1st April 2008. She has also used the Giraffe from the Wild About You stamp set and the Typeset alphabet lower case to stamp the word 'baby'. The colours used I am guessing are Pretty in Pink cardstock and possibly Cameo Coral ink. It is just gorgeous!!

These next two cards were made by Machelle Miller who spent lots of time stamping images and colouring them in with the Watercolour Wonder Crayons and an Aqua Painter to which Julie my mother in law covered with Crystal Effects (which gives a dimensional gloss to the images). The images looked stunning and they made a great team!! This card was made using an image from the set Nice and Easy Notes (this set is about to be deleted you have until the end of March to purchase it) and using the water colour crayons to colour in the image with Really Rust and Pumpkin Pie cardstock inncluding a strip of Apple Green ribbon. The colours went perfectly with the coloured in image. Stunning!

Okay for the Christmas lovers and the ones who plan to get there Christmas cards done early this year and hopefully actually post them (no digs hey Machelle!!) here is a lovely card that Machelle has made using the Sleigh Full Of Toys stamp set that she just got that weekend. Having a ball with the water colour crayons again Machelle was busy colouring in!! Machelle's other favourite is using the Star Stampin Around wheel and best of all using White Ink! She has used Real Red and Glorious Green cardstock to make this lovely card.

Okay I am all typed out tonight and promise to get some more postings on here in the next day or so with cards and scrapbook pages made on the weekend.....did I mention what a great weekend we all had?!! Lets just say that we are working on dates for the next get together already!!

Retired List

The list for Retired Stamp Sets and Accessories from Stampin' Up! 2007 catalogue is now available. Yes the new catalogue is on it's way so if there is anything on this list that you really wanted you better hurry as this is your last chance to order these products as they are going fast. You do have until 31/3/08 or until it runs out, which ever happens first.

Email me on karen@borderline.com.au or leave me a message here and I will send you the list in a pdf format.

I know all these posts and cards in one hit. Below are two more cards using the set Bud Basics and the coordinating Stampin Around Wheel Basic Outline.

I have CASED this card from one of the other Demonstrators (Linda Higgins) and changed the colours, some extra shading and reversed it. The cardstock used is Barely Banana, Sage Shadow and Close to Cocoa. Inks used are Chocolate Chip for the Wheel, So Saffron, Sage Shadow and Close to Cocoa.

This card uses the 'Bud Basics' stamp set again and the saying is from 'Lots of Thoughts' one of the FREE stamp sets again from the Sale-A-Bration campaign. The cardstock is Sage Shadow (yes it is one of my favourite colours at the moment!), Creamy Caramel, Bashful. The ribbon used is from Ribbon Originals 'Seaside'. These ribbons are gorgeous and so easy to use you just need to utilise the colours that are in the ribbon and your card goes perfectly!

All products used are from Stampin' Up!

Finally, back again!!

Okay so I did mention that I was not sure how often I would be updating my blog! I did expect to do it way more than not at all, sorry! Here are a few cards that I have made recently.

These few are for kids birthdays that I have done for Stamp-A-Stacks where you make 8 cards for $10 - please let me know if you are interested in having one of these yourself or if you would be keen to come to my place on the Central Coast to have one as I am organising some times and dates to hold some here and also some in Sydney for those of you that are down there.

Stamp set - By Land

Cardstock - Sage Shadow, Bashful Blue and Cranberry Crisp

Inks - Chocolate Chip and Cranberry Crisp

Accessories - Ribbon from 'Ribbon Originals - Seaside'

This next one is using the stamp set 'Bugs & Kisses' and it is one of my favourite kids sets! This card was a quick and easy one, okay except for the cutting out of the actual bug I would not be so padantic next time around it would have a smooth body! Cardstock used is Whisper White, Night of Navy and Bashful Blue. The ink is Night of Navy and the bug was coloured in using an Aqua Painter and the Watercolour Wonder Crayons.

This card could be used for an older or younger female and is one of Stampin' Up's cards and is only slightly changed from the original. The stamp set is one of the FREE sets available through the Sale-A-Bration campaign which ends this week - Birthday Whimsy, so if you liked any of the free sets you need to put through an order for $100 to qualify to recieve one of four sets available for FREE! The cardstock used is bashful Blue, Pretty In Pink and Close to Cocoa. The inks used are Chocolate Chip and Pretty in Pink. The ribbon is Grosgrain Pink and a white Gel Pen.

All products used are from Stampin' Up! All images are copyright 1990-2007 Stampin' Up

Getting Started...

Well I have been working on this BLOG for a while and I just need to start posting my cards and photos on here instead of trying to make it look pretty, that can come later! I hope you come and visit often as I will try and put new cards and scrapbook pages on here regularly. I did say try, those that know me well are probably sighing!!

Below is a birthday card using the stamp sets Looks Like Spring from the 2007 Idea Book and Catalogue and Small Sayings from the Summer Mini Catalogue that I recently made in a workshop for an embossing technique.

I have used Bashful Blue, Pretty in Pink and Close to Cocoa card stock. The flowers have been embossed (not sure if you can tell from the photo) using Clear Stampin' Emboss Powder. The smaller flowers were embossed and then punched out using the Spring Bouquet Flower Punch and adhered using Stampin' Dimensionals and a brad. I have used the Mat Pack to make the holes and also used Pale Pink Gingham Ribbon on the card. I used the Close to Cocoa classic ink pad for the 'Happy everything stamp'.

All products used are from Stampin' Up!

Below is another birthday card using the stamp set Friendship Blooms from the NEW Sale-A-Bration catalogue. If you do not have a copy of the new catalogue and would like one, please let me know via email or click on the link above to print one.

For this card I used the Friendship Blooms stamp set, Sage Shadow and whisper white card stock. I have stamped the flower images using a Perfect Plum classic ink pad and cut them out and then coloured them in using my Watercolour Wonder Crayons with a Blender Pen. I have also stamped the smaller flowers and cut those out and then using the 2 Way Glue Pen I have dipped the flower into the Dazzling Diamonds glitter and adhered with Stampin' Dimensionals. I have used a Stampin' Up brad and also applied the 2 Way Glue Pen and dipped the brad into the Dazzling Diamonds glitter. I have used a White Gel Pen to enhance the dots and tied Light Pink Gingham Ribbon around the card.

All products used are from Stampin' Up!
